About Us

I (Hannah) started Made To Be Treasured in 2012 with the support of my partner I brought some raw materials and starting to craft items to help me focused and with the aim of bringing a little joy into the world. I started off with a single table trading ad hoc in the only city in Cornwall (where we live) that is Truro, moving on with the business we settled inside a local market running at Weekends in Pool, Cornwall. about 6 months in this market and by neighbouring stall holder decided to close for retirement - she sold greeting cards, after much thought I decided to buy her stall and stock and included cards into my range of handcrafted gifts.

Then along came covid - it was a shock to every single person, you couldn't hide that. In line with guidance the market closed to the public so I moved my business and stock into storage containers, not knowing when or how the restrictions would be lifted I decided to carry on with my dream and spent my days putting my range online both on this webstore, eBay, Amazon, Etsy and others. Being honest it was a lot of work but it took off slowly but steadily grew the range to over 1000 items.

Once the restrictions started to ease and the dust was settling around retail of course I wanted to go back to seeing my customer's face to face so I started looking around at potential opportunities.

After being in a Market for so long I really enjoy the variety, sense of community and atmosphere, so we started looking around and settled back in Truro Pannier Market. Truro of all places - where it all started, in fact we are less than 500m from our very first location!

 

Here we have one of the larger shops in the market with a dedicated space for warehousing all the online stock. I still craft to order and stock handmade bits but am always up for taking commissions.

 

I hope this helps you understand we are a family run business but more of a family run (yes they help too), we are not  a faceless corporate firm we like to think we take care in what we do and be proud of who we are where we are from. We always do our best for our customers and some marketplaces such as eBay recognise this by awarding us "Top Seller Status".
